Job summary

Markel is seeking a Product Development Specialist to develop new and revised insurance forms and endorsements. You will draft related documents and research coverage forms for the US Insurance Division, ensuring underwriting intent and regulatory alignment.

You will also support filing processes, mentor teammates, and foster strong internal partnerships across departments. This role requires a Bachelor's degree and 1–3 years of form development experience, with proficiency in Excel and Word.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1–3 years in developing insurance coverage forms preferred.
• Ability to conceptualize and create insurance forms and endorsements.
• Ability to interpret state laws and regulations in the policy life cycle.
• Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal ability.
• Project management experience preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Develop insurance policy forms for new and revised coverages that convey underwriting intent and support claims resolution.
• Identify and confirm regulatory compliance.
• Prepare documents for product filings and Department of Insurance requests.
• Assist, mentor, and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Foster relationships with internal stakeholders.
• Participate in special projects as requested.
