Job summary

PIMCO is seeking an Account Associate to join the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Insurance team in New York. You will partner with Account Managers to identify and develop prospective insurance relationships, conduct company and industry research, and support opportunities from initial outreach through onboarding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; preferred fields include Business (Finance or Accounting), Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in financial services, asset management, investment banking, investment consulting, actuarial consulting, accounting, or insurance balance sheet strategy.
• Completion of Series 7 and 63 within the first six (6) months of employment.
• Prior insurance-sector experience is helpful but not required; an interest in learning how insurance companies invest is essential.
• Working knowledge of fixed income markets and instruments, with an interest in deepening expertise in public and private credit and insurance investment portfolios.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required. Familiarity with financial databases such as Bloomberg or SNL Financial is preferred; experience with SQL or other data-query tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Insurance Industry & Prospect Research: Analyze insurance companies and industry trends to identify investment strategies and prospective clients.
• Business Development & Client Engagement: Prioritize prospects, tailor outreach, and participate in client discussions and meetings.
• Investment Solutions & Marketing Materials: Prepare presentations and materials for prospective and existing clients.
• Proposals & Due Diligence: Coordinate RFPs and DDQs, gather inputs, and illustrate proposed model portfolios.
• Business Planning & Growth Analysis: Research competitors and analyze trends to guide client outreach strategists.
• Cross-Functional Coordination & Onboarding: Coordinate with teams to support new mandates.
• AI & Workflow Optimization: Use data and AI tools to streamline research and reporting.
