Position Description

PIMCO is seeking an Account Associate to join the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Insurance team, with a focus on business development. As part of the U.S. FIG team of more than 25 investment professionals and associates, you will partner with Account Managers to identify and develop prospective insurance relationships, conduct company and industry research, prepare for client engagements, and support opportunities from initial outreach through onboarding.

The role combines analytical work with commercial execution. You will develop an understanding of prospective clients’ businesses, investment portfolios, and priorities and help connect those needs with PIMCO’s investment capabilities across public and private markets. You will contribute to prospect strategy, client presentations, proposals, and other business development initiatives while coordinating across investment and functional teams.

The team uses data, automation, and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance research, improve prospect and client engagement, and operate more efficiently. You will apply these tools with sound judgment while identifying opportunities to improve and automate recurring workflows.

This role offers significant exposure to insurance investors, investment specialists, and senior relationship managers. You will build expertise in insurance investing, financial analysis, business development, and client communication while taking on increasing responsibility for client presentations and prospect-related initiatives as your knowledge and experience develop.

Key Relationships
  • PIMCO Investment Professionals including Account Managers, Product and Solutions Strategists, Capital Markets, Credit Research Analysts and Portfolio Managers
  • Internal partners across analytics, marketing, legal, compliance, operations, and technology teams in the U.S. and globally.
  • Prospective insurance clients and external partners, including consultants, investment banks, and law firms.
About You

You bring integrity, sound judgment, initiative, and strong communication skills to your work. You are comfortable using data, technology, and AI to develop insights, solve problems, and drive better outcomes. Above all, your work reflects PIMCO’s values of Collaboration, Openness, Responsibility, and Excellence.

Location

This role will be based in New York, NY.
