Job summary

Chase Brexton Health Care in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Financial Eligibility Specialist to determine applicant eligibility for third-party reimbursement, process admissions data, and ensure accurate insurance coding.

You will respond to inquiries, register clients into CPS, maintain eligibility files, and provide monthly patient statistics. A CAC credential within 3 months is required.

Qualifications

• Must become a Certified Application Counselor within three months of hire.
• Ability to understand and practice bookkeeping and accounting terminology
• Ability to operate computers and other office machines
• Cultural competence and the ability to work with patients of all backgrounds
• Bilingual preferred
• Must be able to take responsibility and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Determine applicant eligibility for third party reimbursement following program guidelines.
• Process data necessary for admission of new patients into health services.
• Ensure proper coding for insurance billing.
• Handle inquiries from prospective applicants and patients.
• Respond to billing discussions or questions related to Sliding Fee charges.
• Maintain up-to-date and orderly eligibility files and provide monthly reporting of patient statistics.
