Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company seeks a Counsel to manage a caseload of predominantly low to moderate complexity. You will provide high-quality case handling and advise insured clients and claim partners on strategies from inception through trial and appeal.

Expect opportunities to travel as needed, demonstrate strong legal research and persuasive writing, and collaborate across teams while delivering exceptional client service.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree from an accredited school.
• 2+ years as a practicing attorney with licensing in required states.
• Strong research, writing and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply litigation skills to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct legal research and produce persuasive writing and presentations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other documents.
• Attend court events, depositions, and other appointments independently.
• Advise insured clients and claim partners on file handling strategies.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and partners and use technology effectively.
