Job summary

Travelers Insurance is seeking a Counsel to manage a caseload of predominantly low to moderate complexity, handling matters from inception through trial and appeal for insured clients and Travelers.

You will draft pleadings, conduct legal research, present persuasively, and negotiate when appropriate while collaborating with claim partners and clients across the organization. Travel as required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience.
• Experience independently handling cases from inception through trial/hearing & appeal.
• Strong communication skills for presenting information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to foster collaborative relationships with colleagues, customers, and business partners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply litigation skills to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolution.
• Conduct legal research and produce persuasive writing and oral presentations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other documents.
• Attend court events, depositions, and appointments independently.
• Provide case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners.
