Job summary
The Travelers Indemnity Company seeks a Counsel with strong insurance defense litigation experience to manage a caseload from inception through trial and appeal. You will develop litigation strategies, perform legal research, draft complex filings, and collaborate with claim partners and clients across cases in a dynamic environment.
Ideal candidates have a JD, bar admission, 2+ years in practice, and the ability to transport to hearings and trials as needed.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctorate or equivalent; admitted to practice law.
- At least 2 years as a practicing attorney.
- Active license in good standing where representation is required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and apply litigation skills to try cases or negotiate resolutions.
- Conduct legal research and write persuasively for court filings.
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and related documents.
- Attend court events, depositions, and meetings independently.
- Advise claim partners and clients on file handling strategies.
- Foster strong internal/external client relationships.
- Utilize case management systems and legal tech effectively.
