Job summary

The Travelers Indemnity Company is seeking a Counsel with solid insurance defense experience to manage a caseload from inception through trial and appeal. You will conduct legal research, draft pleadings and briefs, and provide strategic advice to insured clients and claim partners while building strong client relationships.

Travel as required and leverage available technology to support case management and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or international equivalent; graduate from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in required state(s).
• 3+ years of insurance defense litigation experience desired.
• Ability to handle hearings, trials and dispositive motions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply litigation skills to try cases or negotiate resolution.
• Conduct legal research and write persuasively for court filings.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and other documents.
• Attend court events, depositions and appointments independently.
• Provide case analysis and strategic recommendations to insureds and claims partners.
• Build strong internal and external client relationships and provide training as needed.
• Utilize case management tools and technology effectively.
• Travel as required to meet business needs.
