Job summary

Jobot seeks an Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join our in office litigation team and support a busy insurance defense practice.

Responsibilities include handling matters from intake through resolution, drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and correspondence, managing written discovery, and attending conferences, depositions, and mediations. You will work with carriers, insured clients, opposing counsel, and experts.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor and active bar admission in NY, NJ, or PA.
• 2+ years of insurance defense or civil litigation experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills.
• Experience with discovery, motion practice, court appearances, and depositions preferred.
• Ability to manage a busy caseload with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in office.
• Insurance defense, general liability, auto liability, or premises liability experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle insurance defense matters from intake through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, reports, and correspondence.
• Manage written discovery and document review.
• Attend court conferences, hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Work directly with insurance carriers, insured clients, opposing counsel, and experts.
• Analyze liability, damages, and case strategy.
• Prepare cases for settlement, arbitration, and trial.
• Maintain strong communication with clients and internal team members.
• Meet a 2,080 annual billable hour requirement.
