Position Type: Full Time

Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

The Customer Service Agent provides service to Suncoast Credit Union members for the Members Insurance Center. This individual reviews personal line insurance policies to recommend coverage and resolve problems. Key responsibilities include quoting and writing new or renewal policies. An ideal candidate upholds the highest level of business ethics.

Responsibilities

1. Perform annual reviews of existing insurance policies to conserve the business
2. Offer replacement quotes or recommend policy changes on existing policies
3. Meet or exceed individual sales goals established by management
4. Identify the insurance needs of the members and resolve problems by recommending coverage or additional product lines
5. Assist members with new insurance policy applications
6. Correspond with insurance companies and the insured individuals regarding billing, endorsements, and claims for new or existing policies
7. Assist the agency by looking for opportunities to cross-sell
8. Interpret policy language for insured individuals and lenders
9. Manage the Agency Management System database
10. Print, file, and image company download documents
11. Maintain agency & insurance company manuals
12. Implement the agency’s policy, procedure, and underwriting guidelines to minimize errors and omissions
13. Ensure the confidentiality of all information or transactions between the credit union, agency, members, and employees
14. Maintain individual book of business within the Agency Management System, regularly updating notes to include every contact
15. Attend training classes to increase professional knowledge

Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. 2+ years of customer service experience preferably in the insurance industry
3. Florida 20-44 Property & Casualty Personal Lines Agent License required within 6 months of hire date
4. Must maintain continuing education requirements for license
5. Ability to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
6. Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
7. Ability to comprehensively communicate facts, policies, and practices
8. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
