Job summary

Wilson Elser in Denver is seeking an Insurance Coverage/Insurance Litigation Associate to join a collaborative team of experienced professionals. The role involves handling coverage matters for Colorado and US clients, with opportunities to work with domestic and foreign insurers in a flexible, hybrid or remote setup.

The ideal candidate has a JD from an ABA-accredited school, Colorado admission, and at least three years of defense litigation plus one year in coverage matters.

Qualifications

• JD from an ABA accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in the state of Colorado.
• At least 3 years of defense litigation experience.
• 1+ years of coverage/coverage litigation experience.
• Experience drafting coverage opinions in one or more insurance lines (CGL, property, professional liability, cyber, IP, etc.).
• Experience in third-party or first-party claims.
• Coverage analysis and writing experience.
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across departments and offices, contributing to a cohesive and supportive team environment.
• Investigate claims and draft coverage opinion letters.
• In coverage litigation matters, draft pleadings, motions, and handle discovery.
• Provide clients with insurance coverage advice on a variety of subjects.
• Communicate with clients and provide status reports.
