Masis Staffing Solutions represents a fast-growing national law firm seeking an Insurance Coverage & Defense Paralegal in Austin, Texas. You will work with seasoned litigators on complex insurance defense, coverage analysis, and commercial litigation matters.

The role requires 3+ years of paralegal experience, strong knowledge of Texas and federal procedures, and meticulous file management. Base salary starts at $65,000 per year with potential bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of dedicated paralegal experience in insurance coverage, insurance defense, or complex civil litigation.
• Thorough working knowledge of Texas state and federal litigation procedures, court rules, discovery protocols, and insurance practice standards.

Responsibilities

• Case Management & File Review: Manage electronic discovery, complex factual records, claims histories, and primary/excess insurance policy documentation from pre-suit through trial.
• Document Drafting & Pleadings: Assist attorneys in drafting pleadings, discovery requests/responses, subpoenas, coverage position letters, and preliminary motion filings.
• Special Investigations & EUO Support: Support coverage counsel with Examinations Under Oath (EUOs), fraud analysis, and multi-party insurance disputes.
• Pre-Trial & Trial Preparation: Organize exhibit binders, outline deposition packages, coordinate with expert witnesses, and manage court schedules and trial logistics.
• Dockets & E-Filing: Handle electronic filings across state and federal courts in Texas, keeping strict track of procedural deadlines, court calendars, and filing statutes.
• Billable Target: Maintain a baseline expectation of 1,200 billable hours per year while delivering high-quality, substantive legal work.
