Job summary

The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) seeks a Community Coordinator to review and approve insurance documents for discretionary contracts. You will ensure accuracy, process Certificates of Insurance, and provide coordination with staff, providers, and insurers.

The role requires a bachelor's degree with related community work experience or equivalent education/experience, and strong attention to detail in a multi‑stakeholder environment.

Qualifications

  • A baccalaureate degree or higher is required, with related community work experience.
  • High school graduation with six years of related experience is acceptable.
  • Equivalency between education and experience is allowed with at least one year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Certificates of Insurance meet NYC Law Department and DYCD policy.
  • Submits and tracks Certificates of Insurance for secondary review.
  • Reviews and uploads Insurance Certificates, Workers’ Compensation and Disability certificates to ECMS.
  • Opens and reviews mail in the Insurance Compliance Unit.
  • Provides technical support to Providers to correct non‑compliant Certificates of Insurance.
  • Uses Passport and Contract Management System to extract budget information for Providers.
  • Collaborates with the Mayor’s Office of Operations and Central Insurance Program per DYCD policies.
