Job summary

Palmetto Infusion seeks an Insurance Case Manager to verify patient benefits for infusion services and support the clinical team. You will collaborate with the Intake Coordinator, Nurse Manager, and Reimbursement team to ensure accurate verifications and timely authorizations.

The role follows a 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday–Friday schedule, requiring a detail-oriented team player capable of handling long-term caseloads and high-quality patient service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• 2 years of experience managing insurance benefit verifications and authorizations.
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel.
• Ability to cope with ambiguous, changing environment while under pressure in a calm manner.
• Team player able to develop productive working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient data from referring physician office for medical necessity and data integrity.
• Verify insurance using website and phone verifications.
• Complete the insurance verification form and scan into the patient record.
• Review payer policies to determine medical necessity per guidelines.
• Provide coverage summaries and ongoing communications for updates and authorizations.
• Manage a caseload of long-term therapies and reauthorization as applicable.
• Coordinate first payments and payment plans when necessary.
• Obtain SWO and LMN when required.
• Serve as primary on-call contact after hours and holidays.
