Job summary

Burns & Wilcox is seeking an Associate Broker in the San Francisco area to support brokers, develop client relationships, and broker specialty Property insurance. The role emphasizes learning the industry, expanding networks, and driving new business to meet production goals.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in insurance, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and a drive for career advancement in a collaborative team environment. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in the insurance industry.
• Insurance license is preferred.
• Solid coverage, terms, conditions, and pricing knowledge; current market issues.

Responsibilities

• Produce income by brokering specialty Property lines of insurance
• Cultivate and maintain excellent client and agent relationships
• Develop solutions for risk placement and program development
• Promote new business and renewal business to meet production criteria
• Evaluate customers’ needs and propose protection plans
• Access new markets and products, negotiating terms
• Prepare submissions and secure quotes
• Supervise underwriting guidelines and contract terms
• Assist broker in meeting production goals
• Define and monitor sales and marketing strategies with senior management
