Job summary

Brown & Brown is seeking an Assistant Broker to join our growing team. The assistant will support clerical and administrative processes for the Underwriter/Broker’s book of business, handling renewals and new business.

The role involves risk assessment documentation, collaboration with underwriters, and market knowledge to optimize placements, while maintaining confidentiality and complying with quality controls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Proficient with MS Office Suite.
• Excellent telephone demeanor.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar position.

Responsibilities

• Completes and files documentation required for risk acceptance determination.
• Collaborates with Underwriter/Broker with regard to unusual coverage.
• Determines amount of insurance in force on single risk or group of closely related risks.
• Confirms appropriate filings in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Maintains knowledge of all markets available to maximize opportunities to negotiate placements.
• Verify complete and proper coding.
• Compliance with Quality Control guidelines.
