The role collaborates across departments, supports audits, and drives process improvements while maintaining internal controls. Strong Excel and accounting systems skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent education/experience
• Approximately 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry
• Working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
• Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems
• Knowledge of STAT accounting principles preferred
• Demonstrates ownership and delivers accurate, timely work
• Understands the purpose and business drivers behind assigned activities

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries per STAT and GAAP
• Prepare account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items
• Explain fluctuations in balance sheet and income statements
• Assist with quarterly/annual financial statements
• Prepare supporting schedules for internal/external reporting
• Collaborate with departments to resolve accounting questions
• Assist with audit requests and inquiries
• Participate in system implementations and process improvements
• Support special projects and internal control adherence
