Job summary

Kuvare Holdings is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to support life insurance and annuity operations. You will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist in quarterly/annual financial statements while collaborating across departments to ensure accurate results.

The role requires 2–5 years of accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Excel and accounting systems. Some travel may be required; position is full-time in Des Plaines, IL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent required.
• Approximately 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in insurance or financial services.
• Working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
• Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and accounting systems.
• Knowledge of STAT accounting principles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with STAT and GAAP policies.
• Prepare account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items for timely resolution.
• Explain routine fluctuations in balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Assist with quarterly/annual financial statement preparation.
• Prepare supporting schedules for internal/external reporting.
• Collaborate with departments to resolve accounting questions and gather supporting information.
• Assist with audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Participate in system implementations, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as assigned.

About The Role

The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for performing accounting activities supporting the Company's life insurance and annuity operations. This role prepares journal entries, reconciles accounts, analyzes financial activity, supports the financial close processes, and assists in the preparation of the quarterly/annual financial statements.

The Intermediate Accountant works independently on assigned responsibilities while partnering with other business areas to ensure the accurate recording of financial results.

Qualifications

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent education/experience
• Approximately 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
• Working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
• Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and accounting systems.
• Knowledge of STAT accounting principles preferred

Physical Demands

Salary: $75,000 -$80,000
