Job summary

Kuvare Holdings seeks an Intermediate Accountant to support life insurance and annuity operations, handling journal entries, reconciliations, and assisting in quarterly and annual financial statements. You will work independently while partnering with other departments to ensure accurate recording and assist during audits, with a focus on process improvements and system enhancements.

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 2-5 years of experience in insurance/financial services are preferred, with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent education/experience.
• Approximately 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
• Working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
• Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and accounting systems.
• Knowledge of STAT accounting principles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with STAT and GAAP accounting policies.
• Prepare account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items to ensure timely resolution.
• Explain routine fluctuations in balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly/annual financial statements.
• Prepare supporting schedules used in internal/external financial reporting.
• Collaborate with various departments to resolve accounting questions and obtain supporting information.
• Assist with audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
• Participate in system implementations, process improvements, and automation initiatives designed to improve accounting efficiency and reporting quality.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as assigned.
• Responsible for adherence to the company's framework of internal controls.
