Job summary

Kuvare Holdings is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to support life insurance and annuity operations. The role records journal entries, reconciles accounts, analyzes financial activity, and assists in quarterly and annual financial statements.

You will collaborate with other departments, support internal controls, and participate in process improvements and system implementations to enhance reporting quality. Normal office hours with some overtime may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent education/experience.
• Approximately 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in insurance/financial services.
• Working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
• Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting systems.
• Knowledge of STAT accounting principles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with STAT and GAAP policies.
• Prepare account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items to ensure timely resolution.
• Explain routine fluctuations in balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly/annual financial statements.
• Prepare supporting schedules used in internal/external financial reporting.
• Collaborate with various departments to resolve accounting questions and obtain supporting information.
• Assist with audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries.
• Participate in system implementations, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
• Assist with special projects and other accounting responsibilities as assigned.
• Adhere to the company's framework of internal controls.
