Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a Journeyman insulation professional in the United States (Arkansas) to apply, remove, and repair insulation on equipment, pipes, and ducts. The role emphasizes reading blueprints, selecting materials, and performing work independently while adhering to safety and hazardous waste guidelines.

You will prepare surfaces, fit insulation around obstructions, and seal surfaces with covers and tapes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with field experience.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and documentation.
• Document, plan and perform work activities independently.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blue prints, instructions, and other documentation or plan work activities.
• Determines insulation material and quantities based on heat retention, location, and equipment.
• Moves materials and sets up the work site.
• Seals insulation surfaces with covers, sealants, tape, or cement.
• Fits insulation around obstructions and shapes materials as required.
• Installs sheet metal around insulated pipes to protect insulation.
• Measures and cuts insulation for covering surfaces with common tools.
• Prepares surfaces with adhesives or cement prior to insulation.
• Seals insulation with covers or tape to secure it to structures.
• Follows hazardous waste handling guidelines and safety rules.
