Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a Journeyman insulation technician to apply, repair, and install insulation on various equipment and piping. You will read plans, select materials, and perform installation while following safety procedures.

The role requires independence, attention to detail, and the ability to document work activities; a minimum 3 years of field experience is typical for Journeyman level.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related field experience preferred.
• Familiarity with insulation materials and installation practices.
• Ability to read plans, instructions, and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blue prints, instructions, and other documentation or plan work activities.
• Determines the amounts and selects required insulation material based on heat retention, location, surface, shape, and equipment use.
• Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site.
• Cover, seal, or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with covers, tape, sealants or cement.
