Job summary

Messer Group in the United States (Arkansas) is seeking an Instrument Technician I to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our continuous chemical manufacturing process. You will implement preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance in compliance with local and national regulations.

You will calibrate and replace field instrumentation, troubleshoot electrical and control loops, assist with startups and shutdowns, and support safety programs such as HWP, LOTO, and MOC.

Qualifications

• HSD or GED.
• 3 years of relevant experience in related process plant reliability.
• ISA Level 1 certification or ability to obtain within two years.
• Technical degree or two-year related training may substitute ISA Level 1.
• Physically able to perform duties incl. lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing heights.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate, configure, and/or replace field instrumentation devices.
• Perform and document instrument calibration checks.
• Troubleshoot electrical control circuits.
• Troubleshoot process control equipment.
• Test instrument and electrical control loops.
• Set up and safely operate instruments and equipment.
• Assist in shutdowns, start-ups, and production state changes.
• Follow safety procedures including HWP, LOTO and MOC.
• Prioritize and schedule all work activities.
