Job summary

Messer is seeking an Instrument Technician I to ensure safe, reliable operation of our continuous chemical manufacturing process in line with regulations and standards. You will implement preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance and calibrate field instrumentation devices to keep our plants running efficiently.

Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED, 3 years in a related process plant reliability role, ISA Level 1 or the ability to obtain within two years, and physical ability to

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of relevant experience in a related process plant operations reliability activity.
• ISA Level 1 certification or the ability to obtain one in two years.
• The job requirement is to obtain your ISA Level 1 certification within two years of hire date.
• Physically able to perform all duties including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders and working at heights.

Responsibilities

• Set up and safely operate all instruments and equipment necessary to perform assigned work.
• Effectively prioritize and schedule all work activities.
• Calibrate, configure, and/or replace field instrumentation devices.
• Perform and document process and product analyzers calibration checks.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment control circuits.
• Troubleshoot and repair process control equipment.
• Functionally test or troubleshoot instrument or electrical control loops through field devices to verify proper operation.
• Assist in shutdowns, start-ups, and production state changes for plant(s) in the area.
• Accept on-call duty and overtime as required.
