Job summary

Messer North America, Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking an Instrument Technician I to ensure safe, reliable operation of the continuous chemical process. You will implement preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance per regulations and standards.

Responsibilities include calibrating field instruments, troubleshooting control loops, and supporting shutdowns/startups. Candidates must have HSD/GED, ISA Level 1 or able to obtain within 2 years, and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• ISA Level 1 certification or the ability to obtain one within two years.
• Two-year technical degree or related military training will be considered in lieu of ISA Level 1.

Responsibilities

• Set up and safely operate instruments and equipment for assigned work.
• Prioritize and schedule all work activities.
• Calibrate, configure, and replace field instrumentation devices after certification.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical control circuits and process control equipment.
• Test instrument loops and verify proper operation in field devices.
