Job summary

Messer Americas is seeking an Instrument Technician I to ensure safe, reliable operation of the continuous chemical manufacturing process. You will implement preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance and calibrate field instrumentation after certification.

Responsibilities include safety policy adherence, LOTO and HWP, MOC changes, contractor supervision, and operating CMMS SAP for work orders. Requires ISA Level 1 and ability to obtain within two years.

Qualifications

• HSD or GED.
• ISA Level 1 certification or ability to obtain within two years.
• Two-year technical degree or recent military training in a technical field may substitute ISA Level 1.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to safe work policies; lead safety meetings.
• Apply HWP, LOTO and energy isolation procedures for personnel.
• Follow MOC procedures for changes to process and operating procedures.
• Supervise, provide direction to and monitor contractors.
• Set up and safely operate all instruments and equipment for assigned work.
• Calibrate and replace field instrumentation devices as certified.
• Troubleshoot electrical control circuits and process control equipment.
• Test instrument and control loops to verify proper operation.
