The Instrumentation/Controls Technician role involves troubleshooting, calibrating, installing, and commissioning instrumentation and PLC systems at customer sites, with travel to locations as needed. Requirements include 4+ years of hands-on experience, strong knowledge of AC/DC drives, PID control concepts, and proficiency with PLC/HMI systems.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on experience as an instrumentation or controls technician.
- Solid understanding of AC and DC drives and speed feedback devices.
- Reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with PLC and HMI systems and diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, install, and commission instrumentation at customer sites.
- Diagnose functionality and I/O operation; repair using meters and tools.
- Set up new instrumentation and calibrate using schematics and drawings.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on test apparatus.
- Test and commission PLC systems with start-up troubleshooting.
- Program PLCs and HMIs; identify parts for system integration projects.
- Develop and assemble project documentation and user manuals.
