Job summary

POET is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician for its North Manchester, IN bioprocessing facility. The role focuses on troubleshooting, wiring, and repairing instrument and electrical systems to maintain continuous plant operations on a 24/7 basis.

On-site work with a Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM schedule. The position requires knowledge of 4160V/480V/220V/110V systems, PLC/DCS I/O, and calibration of process instruments.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical training required.
• Journeyman or Master License preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of standard electrical equipment and work practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and install up to 4160V systems.
• Experience with PLC/DCS I/O and 4–20 mA loops.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and identify root cause, repair or replace parts, rewire and install related instrument/electrical goods.
• Follow local electrical codes and test procedures including high and low voltage systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC/DCS I/O including 4–20mA loops.
• Perform preventative and proactive electrical maintenance and compliance procedures.
• Assist with emergency and scheduled shutdowns while performing regular mechanical duties.
• Calibrate, configure, and repair measurement/control instruments.
• Understand electrical and instrumentation equipment used in plant processing.
• Maintain inventories and document records.
• Work with management to develop and train instrument/electrical programs.
• Be available for after-hours calls when needed.
• Promote safety, POET culture, and food safety standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
