Job summary

POET is hiring an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and install instrument and electrical systems at our bioprocessing facility in Hanlontown, IA. The role requires following electrical codes, testing procedures, and coordinating with management on issues and improvements.

Responsibilities include maintaining 4160V/480V/220V/110V systems, PLC/DCS I/O troubleshooting, calibration of instruments, and participating in 24/7 operations with on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical training or equivalent.
• Journeyman or Master License preferred but may be required based on location.
• Strong knowledge of 4160V, 480V, 220V, 110V and 4-20 mA loops.
• Experience with PLC/DCS I/O and motor control centers.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and identify root causes, repair or replace parts, rewire and install related instrument/electrical goods.
• Ensure work follows local electrical codes and test procedures.
• Troubleshoot PLC/DCS I/O, 4-20 mA loops, 120V/24VDC I/O.
• Perform preventative and proactive electrical maintenance and compliance procedures.
• Assist with emergency and scheduled shutdowns; perform routine mechanical duties as needed.
• Calibrate, configure, and repair measurement/control instruments (flow, level, pressure, temperature, pH).
• Maintain inventories of instrument/electrical parts and document activities.
• Work with management and staff to ensure plant operations meet standards.
