Job summary

POET in Fairmont, NE is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician for the on-site bioprocessing facility. You will troubleshoot, repair and install instrument/electrical goods, ensuring compliance with electrical codes and PLC/DCS I/O systems. The role supports 24/7 operations and requires on-call readiness.

Monday-Thursday day shifts with on-call rotations. Qualifications include an associate degree or equivalent, knowledge of 4160V systems, and PLC experience.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent in electrical training required.
• Journeyman or Master license preferred depending on location.
• Strong knowledge of electrical equipment and work practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot and install high-voltage/motor systems.
• Experience with PLC/DCS and 4-20mA loops.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and learning new programs.
• Ability to read PLC code, schematics and P&ID diagrams.
• Industrial networking experience welcomed.
• 1–3 years related work experience; heavy up to 4160V ok.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and identify root causes of instrument/electrical issues.
• Repair or replace parts, rewire and install instrument/electrical goods.
• Follow local electrical codes including 4160V/480V systems.
• Troubleshoot PLC/DCS I/O and 4-20mA loops.
• Perform preventative electrical maintenance and compliance.
• Assist with shutdowns and conduct routine mechanical tasks.
• Calibrate and repair measurement/control instruments (flow, pressure, temp, pH).
• Maintain inventories of instrument/electrical parts.
• Document work in inventory/calibration records.
• Operate in a 24/7 bioprocessing plant environment.
