Job summary

POET, based in Obion, TN, is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and install instrument and electrical systems at the bioprocessing facility. You will follow local codes, calibrate instruments, and support 24/7 operations and on-call requirements.

Qualified candidates have an associate degree in electrical training, 1–3 years of experience with 4160V systems, PLC/DCS I/O, and industrial instrumentation, with a commitment to safety and teamwork at POET.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electrical training required.
• Journeyman or Master License preferred but may be required based on location.
• Thorough knowledge of standard electrical equipment and work practices.
• Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and install 4160V, 480V, 220V, 110V motors and breakers, protective relays, PLCs, transformers, MCCs, lights, and panels.
• Troubleshoot PLC/DCS I/O including 4-20mA loops, 120V/24DC I/O.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Read and translate PLC code, schematic wiring, ladder and P&ID diagrams.
• Industrial network experience.
• Minimum of 1-3 years of related work experience.
• Experience with 3 phase electrical systems up to 4160V.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair or replace parts and rewire and install related instrument/electrical systems.
• Ensure work follows local electrical codes including 4160V, 480V, 220V, 110V, 24V DC and 4-20 mA loops.
• Troubleshoot PLC/DCS I/O.
• Perform preventative and proactive electrical maintenance and compliance procedures.
• Assist with emergency and scheduled shutdowns.
• Calibrate, configure, and repair measurement/control instruments for flow, level, pressure, temperature, and pH.
• Maintain inventories and document work using records.
• Support safety and food safety programs and training.
• Be available for after-hours on-call as needed.
• Maintain a safe, team-oriented work environment at POET.
