Job summary

BW Design Group in Atlanta seeks an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to develop systems for capital projects across food & beverage, life sciences, and tech sectors. You will collaborate with engineering teams to translate process requirements into safe, reliable control designs from concept through start-up.

The role entails leading design and estimating, developing P&IDs, data sheets, and system documentation, and traveling to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
3+ years leading instrumentation and controls design and estimating for capital projects.
Experience with Rockwell Automation hardware/software and PLC/I-O/SCADA.
Ability to collaborate with owners, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
Willingness to travel for installation, start-up, and client meetings.

Responsibilities

Develop instrumentation and control system designs for industrial manufacturing and process environments.
Engineer PLC and SCADA interfaces to meet safety, reliability, and optimization goals.
Lead design and estimating during preliminary and detailed project phases.
Conduct facility and system walks to define scope and constraints.
Create system architecture, I/O, P&IDs, data sheets, and network docs.
Coordinate design activities with engineers, contractors, system integrators, and clients.
