Job summary

BW Design Group in Boston seeks an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to develop solutions for capital projects across food & beverage, life sciences, and advanced technology sectors. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to translate process requirements into safe, reliable control designs from design through start-up.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with a focus on process control and instrumentation.
3+ years of experience leading instrumentation and controls design and estimating for capital projects.
Experience with Rockwell Automation hardware and software, PLC, I/O, SCADA, networking, instrumentation, P&ID, and data sheet development.
Experience supporting multidisciplinary industrial capital projects involving owners, contractors, system integrators, and mechanical, electrical, and process teams.
Ability to travel for installation, start-up, client meetings, training, and industry events.

Responsibilities

Develop instrumentation and controls designs for industrial manufacturing and process environments.
Engineer PLC and SCADA interface solutions to support safety, reliability, and optimization.
Lead instrumentation and controls design and estimating during project phases.
Perform site walks to define scope and constraints.
Develop system architecture, I/O requirements, P&IDs, data sheets, and network documentation.
Coordinate design activities with engineering teams, contractors, system integrators, and client representatives.
