Job summary

S&B Engineers and Constructors, Ltd. invites applications for an Instrument and Controls Engineer Intern. The role supports design tasks under supervision, performing standard design techniques and procedures in an EPC environment.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, with 2+ years of undergrad study and willingness to work collaboratively across disciplines in a hybrid setting.

Qualifications

• Internship requires completion of at least two years of undergraduate studies in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Must have working knowledge of various computer software packages and automated engineering/design equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares basic design sketches and performs calculations for equipment, components, structures, or systems.
• Conducts field trips to existing plants to gather operating data and equipment information.
• Gathers data to help prepare equipment specifications, inquiries and purchase requisitions for approval.
• Evaluates vendors' bids and drawings to assure compliance with specifications for simple equipment.
• Participates in preparation of equipment lists and load summaries.
• Participates in design guides, guide specifications and contract proposals.
• Participates in plant start-ups and field assignments as required.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
