Job summary

S&B Engineers and Constructors, Ltd. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to perform routine design tasks under close supervision. You will work with senior engineers on equipment and system design, data gathering, and vendor bid evaluation.

The role involves field trips to plants, data collection for specifications, and participation in start‑up activities. Eligibility to work in the U.S. is required; two years of undergraduate study are expected.

Qualifications

• Two years of undergraduate study in Mechanical Engineering.
• Working knowledge of computer software and automated design equipment.
• Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Prepares basic design sketches and performs calculations for equipment, components, structures, or systems.
• Conducts field trips to existing plants to gather operating data and equipment information.
• Gathers data to help prepare equipment specifications, inquiries, and purchase requisitions.
• Evaluates vendors' bids and drawings for compliance with specifications.
• Participates in preparation of equipment lists, piping line lists, and specialty item lists.
• Contributes to the development of design guides, guide specifications and contract proposals.
• Participates in plant Start-ups.
