Job summary

Kiewit OGC Engineering in Houston seeks an Electrical or Chemical Engineering intern. You’ll support design teams, perform basic calculations under supervision, and learn to review P&ID’s and equipment lists to develop load lists and diagrams.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across disciplines, with training opportunities and a path toward professional growth within Kiewit’s engineering group. Flexible work options are available, and you’ll be part of a company with 130 years of construction

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree Electrical or Chemical Engineering from an ABET accredited four-year college or university program is required.
Able to work full-time during 2022 summer.
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suites.
Adjusts to varying demands of work and performs well.
Communicates effectively orally and in writing.
Participates on teams effectively.
Seeks expertise and perspectives from various sources.

Responsibilities

Performs basic calculations under supervision of a more senior engineer.
Reviews P&IDs and mechanical equipment lists to develop electrical load lists and one line diagrams.
Expands knowledge through training and work experience.
Learns codes and standards to complete assignments.
Performs non-routine technical assignments of limited scope.
