Job summary

Glumac, a Tetra Tech company, seeks an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to design control systems supporting semiconductor, electric vehicle, data center, and building automation projects from planning through commissioning.

You will develop control system documentation, support PLC/SCADA design, size instruments and valves, and participate in field verification, commissioning, and start‑up activities; travel to project sites will be required. Hybrid work in Austin, TX with two in‑office days.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of instrumentation and controls design experience.
• EIT certification and pursuit of PE licensure.
• Experience developing P&IDs, sequences of operation, instrument indexes, wiring diagrams.
• Experience with PLC and SCADA system design.
• Willingness to travel to project sites for field verification and commissioning.
• Authorized to work in the United States full-time; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Develop control system design deliverables, including P&IDs, sequences of operation, instrument indexes, wiring diagrams.
• Design and support PLC and SCADA systems across multiple manufacturers and protocols.
• Size and select instruments and valves based on process conditions.
• Coordinate with engineers, clients, vendors, and construction teams to resolve design challenges.
• Visit project sites for field and design verification, client meetings, commissioning, and start-up support.
• Review designs for accuracy, constructability, functionality, and alignment with project requirements.
• Contribute to project delivery from early design through implementation and closeout.
