Job summary

Taurus Industrial Group in Deer Park, TX is seeking an Instrument Technician to manage electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems in an industrial setting. The role requires reading blueprints, installing instruments, mounting stands, and installing piping and fittings, with strong attention to safety and accuracy.

A Texas driver’s license and TWIC are required where applicable. Requirements include a High School diploma or GED and at least four years of training or experience as an Analyzer

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or G.E.D.
• Must have at least four (4) years of training or experience as an Analyzer Technician I or equivalent.
• Must have skills in conduit, tubing, and piping installation.
• Must be able to mount stands and install instruments.
• Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• TWIC required.
• Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License with minimal infractions.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply information from work orders, drawings, specifications, blueprints, ISO’s or other drawings.
• Identify, recognize, and demonstrate safe usage of power tools appropriate for the job.
• Recognize various materials used in piping systems and demonstrate a working knowledge of appropriate material handling techniques.
• Select and safely use appropriate equipment which may include (but not limited to) manlifts, forklifts, and company trucks.
• Demonstrate understanding of unit’s stability as it pertains to the relationship between the instruments, process and analyzer.
• Demonstrate basic understanding of mechanical and process systems.
• Demonstrate ability to check flows, pressures, and temperatures of the sample system.
• Demonstrate ability to safely monitor a repair sample system.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skill required to accurately operate on various types of test equipment available on sites.
• Demonstrate skill in instrument reapplications.
• Demonstrate ability to design and construct complex sample systems including wiring, conduit, etc.
• Demonstrate knowledge of all codes, standards, application manuals, and publications.
• Demonstrate planning capabilities in coordinating work with other technicians.
