Pape-Dawson is seeking an Instrument Operator / Land Surveyor for their Orlando, FL office. The role supports the Party Chief by operating survey instruments and performing essential field surveying tasks to ensure accurate data collection.

Responsibilities include field data collection, staking, data entry, and coordination with crew members; the candidate should have solid experience with Leica/Trimble gear and strong teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of land surveying experience.
• Proficient with Leica and Trimble equipment.
• Ability to operate advanced surveying instruments.
• Strong field calculation and data analysis skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, inspect, and maintain survey equipment.
• Operate data collectors, Total Stations, Robotic Total Stations, levels, and GPS-RTK Receivers.
• Perform field work to ascertain precise measurements and locations of features.
• Do construction staking for streets, utilities, drains, and lots.
• Compile notes, sketches, and survey data records with accuracy.
• Guide and direct Rodmen and junior crew members.
• Perform minor field calculations and spatial data analysis.
• Assist Party Chief during tasks or lead crew in their absence.
• Follow safety protocols and project requirements.
