Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers Inc. in The Woodlands, TX seeks an Instrument Operator / Land Surveyor to support field crews in collecting precise survey data and performing instrument setup.

You will load and maintain equipment, operate Total Stations and GPS receivers, perform construction staking, take field notes, and assist the Party Chief when needed. This role requires physical stamina and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Load, inspect, and maintain survey equipment.
• Perform field measurements with Total Stations and GPS receivers.
• Record detailed notes and sketches of survey data.
• Assist the Party Chief and delegate tasks to crew.
• Adhere to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct construction staking for streets, utilities, drains, and lot layouts.
• Provide guidance to Rodmen and less experienced crew members.
• Perform minor field calculations and spatial data analysis.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of survey records.
• Address basic field issues and escalate as needed.
