Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Instrument Operator to support field operations in Atlanta, GA. The role involves collecting data, operating surveying instruments, and assisting the Party Chief to ensure accurate measurements and timely field reports.

The ideal candidate has 1+ years in land surveying and experience with data collectors, GPS, and total stations. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are required; training is available for

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years using data collectors, robotic/non-robotic total stations and GPS equipment.
• 1+ years in land surveying experience.
• Valid driver’s license; insurable.
• Willing to train if experience is lacking.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Willingness and ability to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Collect data using company standards for descriptions and line coding.
• Assist Party Chief in running field operations.
• Operate and maintain surveying instruments to measure elevations, angles and distances.
• Coordinate with office staff and clients as needed.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal survey regulations and Accura procedures.
• Monitor daily timesheets, reports and vehicle inspections.
• Perform mathematical calculations to locate reference points.
• Interpret maps, plats, blueprints, and specifications.
• Clean, check and adjust instruments for accuracy.
• Oversee surveying activities in the Survey Party Chief’s absence.
• Perform related duties as required.
