Job summary

Lansing Board of Water and Light is seeking an Instrument & Control Specialist to manage instrumentation, control, and monitoring across electric, steam, water, and chilled water utilities in Lansing, MI. The role covers legacy pneumatic to modern DCS/SCADA systems and requires strong cross-discipline troubleshooting and documentation.

Responsibilities include configuring networks, reading schematics, and supporting engineering in project modifications.

Qualifications

• Requires 4-year Instrument Controls Specialist apprenticeship with 1 year of experience or an associate degree with electrical/electronics/computers curriculum plus 4 years utility maintenance

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, maintain, troubleshoot and repair DCS/SCADA systems and HMIs.
• Work with control system networks including Modbus, FieldBus, ProfiBus, 61850, HART, Ethernet/IP.
• Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, prints, manuals, and other technical resources.
• Ensure data integrity for engineering review and historian captures.
