Job summary

Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12 – Special Projects in Virginia seeks an experienced technician to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, program, and improve industrial control systems supporting wastewater collection, pumping, and conveyance. The role focuses on SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, instrumentation, and related electrical systems to ensure reliable utility operations.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in industrial controls and SCADA.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering technology or related field.
• Experience with wastewater, water, or industrial facilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs SCADA systems for pump stations and collections.
• Configures and programs PLCs, HMIs, and RTUs; monitors system performance.
• Develops SCADA graphics, alarm management, and historical data collection.
• Performs software updates, backups, and system recovery procedures.
• Coordinates with electricians, mechanics, operators, and contractors during repairs.
• Assists with commissioning, startup, and acceptance testing of new facilities.
