Position Details, Compensation and Benefits

Full-time (9-month) professional-track faculty position. Faculty service with pay and benefits start July 1, 2027. Annual salary of $49,000 depending on qualifications and experience, with additional compensation available for optional summer/overload teaching. The Department of English at Utah Tech University (UT) in St. George, Utah invites applications for a full-time, Instructor of the Practice (professional track) position in English beginning fall semester 2027. At UT, Instructors of the Practice are considered Master Teachers. Instructors of the Practice are hired as expert instructors with no scholarship expectations and nominal service expectations. Professional track faculty are not on the tenure track, but these positions are continuing positions with rank advancement opportunities. Instructors of the Practice teach a 30-credit load, which typically is a 5-5 load. Any summer teaching or overload teaching during the fall or spring semesters is additional work for additional compensation.
