The Department of Communication at Utah Tech University (UT) in St.George, Utah, is seeking one creative and passionateteacher/scholar for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professorof Communication, with an emphasis in Leadership and OrganizationalCommunication, to begin Fall 2027 semester. The position requires a4/4 teaching load per academic year, and the successful candidateswill be expected to teach courses related to student leadership,organizational communication, and/or professionalcommunication.
We invite applicants who teach and develop research on leadershipand organizational communication across theoretical andparadigmatic approaches (qualitative, critical, quantitative), withinterest areas in including, but not limited to, compassionateleadership, student-led organizing, community leadership andorganizing, organizational support, ethics in leadership, publicrelations, strategic communication (across local/globalcontexts), and organizational justice and activism. Special consideration will be given to the applicant with a strongcommitment to student mentorship and success. Special considerationwill also be given to the applicant with a with a desire toreinvigorate the department’s current curriculum and design newcourses related to the candidate’s specialty area(s). The primaryconsideration for tenure at UT is teaching, with expectations ofuniversity- and college-level service beginning at the second yearof employment. Maintaining an active research trajectory is highlydesired.

Annual salary of $58,000 with additional compensation available for optional summer/overload teaching.
