Job summary

Honolulu Community College is seeking an Instructor for the Occupational and Environmental Safety Management (OESM) program. This full-time, tenure-track position requires developing and teaching courses, aligning curricula with program goals, and mentoring students.

The role may involve 9- to 11-month scheduling as needs dictate. You will collaborate with colleagues, update course content to industry standards, and support assessments to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related discipline is required or
• Bachelor's degree plus 3 years related work experience option or
• Associate's degree plus 5 years related work experience or
• 15 college credits plus 7 years related work experience including training must be met by appointment date

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and teach courses in the Occupational and Environmental Safety Management program.
• Work with colleagues to understand student needs and responsibilities.
• Develop curriculum and align courses to meet program requirements and college objectives.
• Prepare, revise and implement course outlines, student learning outcomes and syllabi.
• Mentor students and maintain currency in subject matter to meet industry demands.
• Assist in course development for certifications and participate in program assessments.
