Lamar State College-Port Arthur is hiring a Maritime Structural Fitter Instructor. This full-time position involves teaching NCCER CORE and Maritime Structural Fitter Level 1 and 2 courses, along with participating in college activities such as advising and tutoring.
Applicants should have at least four years in Welding or Maritime Structural Fitting, possess a valid driver's license, and ideally hold certifications for NCCER CORE and Maritime Structural Fitting. The role requires maintaining safety standards and responding to student needs.

The Maritime Structural Fitter Instructor has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, teaching NCCER CORE, NCCER Maritime Structural Fitter Level 1 and Level 2, and other courses as assigned. This is a full‑time, one (1) year, grant‑funded position, that reports to LSCPA’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Department.
Duties may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials. Visual and auditory acuity are required to ensure effective instruction and safe supervision of students in classroom and construction settings. This position also requires the instructor to work and maneuver in confined spaces, less than one (1) meter high.
