Lamar State College-Port Arthur is seeking a full-time Welding Instructor to teach NCCER courses and manage student records. This role requires a commitment to student success and community engagement located in Port Acres, Texas.
The ideal candidate will have over four years of welding experience and a valid driver's license. Responsibilities include quality instruction, participation in college activities, and maintaining subject matter expertise.
This position is grant-funded and subject to Texas Education Code provisions.

The Welding Instructor has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, teaching NCCER CORE, NCCER Welding Level 1 and Level 2, and other courses as assigned. This is a full-time, two (2) year, grant-funded position, that reports to LSCPA’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Department.
Physical Requirements: Duties may include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and occasional lifting or moving of equipment or materials. Visual and auditory acuity are required to ensure effective instruction and safe supervision of students in classroom and construction settings. This position also requires the instructor to work and maneuver in confined spaces, less than one (1) meter high.
This position is security-sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information.
