Job summary

Monarch Mountain's Ski & Ride School is seeking winter seasonal instructors who coach guests in skiing or snowboarding using PSIA/AASI teaching methods. You will collaborate with other Monarch departments to provide exceptional service, assist with lesson line-ups, and continually develop your own teaching skills throughout the season.

Candidates should be at least 16 years old, legally eligible to work in the United States, and willing to undergo a background check.

Qualifications

  • Minimum age 16.
  • US citizen or eligible to work in the US.
  • PSIA/AASI membership and certifications preferred.
  • Ski/snowboard at an intermediate level.
  • Background check required.
  • Ability to push, lift, and move up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Coach guests in skiing or snowboarding using PSIA/AASI teaching methods.
  • Work as a team with Monarch departments to provide exceptional service.
  • Assist with lesson line-ups and schedule commitments.
  • Develop skiing/boarding and teaching skills throughout the season.
  • Maintain clientele through proactive service and sales efforts.

JOB SUMMARY:The Ski & Ride School Department is a fun and exciting way to join the on-mountain ski industry and the Monarch family. This department is an upbeat, active, and outdoor department that provides opportunities to earn and play in the mountains. Instructors should have a positive attitude, enjoy being outdoors, and enjoy sharing their knowledge and passion for skiing or snowboarding with our guests. Instructors are responsible for coaching guests in skiing and/or snowboarding, continues to develop his or her own skills as an instructor, and maintains clientele through proactive service and sales efforts.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:The instructor’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Coach guests in the tactics of skiing or snowboarding, providing them with a positive and quality experience that exceeds their expectations and within the realm of the PSIA/AASI teaching methodologies.Work as a team with other members of all Monarch departments to provide exceptional service.Assist with lesson line-ups as requested.Develop skiing/boarding and teaching skills throughout the season.Fulfill department schedule and commitment levels to meet operational needsOther duties as assigned. Can work any hours during the business day including mornings, evenings or split shifts, and any days of the week (including weekends and holidays)JOB REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Age: 16Legal citizen of the United States or possess other proper work permit authentication.Background check required.Ski/ride at an intermediate level.Ability to push, lift, and move up to 35 lbs.Member of PSIA/AASI and certifications preferred.Prior instructor experience preferred.Requires working at high elevation (up to 12,000’), with extended exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as severe cold, heavy snowfall, rain, strong winds and intense sun.JOB TYPE: Winter SeasonalCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Compensation: Begins at $18 per hour, actual pay will be adjusted based on experience/length of service.Benefits: Monarch Season Pass and many more!
