Jay Peak Ski Resort is seeking a Ski & Snowboard Instructor to deliver high-quality on-snow instruction across groups and individual sessions. You will contribute to a collaborative team, follow resort policies, and participate in ongoing PSIA/ AASI training to maintain credentials.

We offer flexible scheduling, comprehensive training, and a supportive mountain community focused on guests’ exceptional experiences and safety in winter conditions.

The Ski & Snowboard instructor participates in teambuilding and skill building exercises and actively maintains and/or improves their instructing credentials.We offer flexible scheduling within the needs of our team and provide comprehensive training to get you ready. Instructors must be energetic, passionate, hardworking, support the mission of the resort and follow the company’s policies and procedures.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCELess than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.COMPUTER SKILLSBasic computer skills are needed to utilize the scheduling and attendance systems.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSPSIA Certification is preferred.OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIESExcellent communication and interpersonal skills are an essential part of this position. Must be able to interact cooperatively with all other departments. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.RESORT CONDITIONSThis is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
